Firefox 1.0.3 (versión en Inglés)
Está disponible para descarga desde el sitio web de Firefox la versión 1.0.3 del navegador. Por ahora solamente está disponible la versión en Inglés, probablemnte en estos días estén disponibles las versiones en otros idiomas.

Uhmmm, un Space un poco sucio
Parece que Microsoft de nuevo jugando sucio. Quisiera creer que es sin intención, pero resulta que el logo de su nuevo servicio MSN Spaces es muy similar al de la distribución de Linux llamada Ubuntu
¿Será que en Redmond nunca lo vieron? ¿Será que alguien lo vio? Resulta que son peores copiones que yo :D. Para la proxima clase escribir cien veces: “no debo copiar a mis compañeritos”
Para los que no quieran creer les dejo aqui abajo un imagen con ambos logos, el de la izquierda es el de Ubuntu, y el igualito a la derecha el de MSN Spaces. ¿Que opinan?

Internet Explorer.
Youll find it one morning in your driveway, and there is no way of removing it.
The engine starts as soon as you approach it, which is a bit odd, but it seems to run smoothly enough not to pose a threat.
Everybody else seems to drive the same car, so you give it a spin.
It is pretty enjoyable to use dead easy really. For example you dont have to hit the gas pedal properly to accelerate, just putting your foot in the general surrounding is enough.
It does swerve a bit in the bends and newer roads are a really bumpy ride, but that is a minor problem, surely whoever builds these cars must be working on that.
For some reason, the roof leaks and when you ask others what can be done against that they advise you to wear a thick jacket made from a waterproof material. The best seems to be Symantex.
There is plenty of parking space around the area, but somehow all parking lots have advertising signs blocking the way. You are advised to get a CowCatcherXP2 to get rid of those.
After driving in some dark alleys a part of the windscreen shows advertisements for gambling arcades at random intervals. To get rid of those, you are advised to get a SpotwareRemoverTowel. It takes some time and several attempts to get rid of the stains, but that is perfectly normal.
From time to time you get overtaken by faster cars playing classical music, and smooth moving ones (even on the newer roads) with foxtails on the rear-view mirror. They do look flash, but why bother? The drivers seem to be weirdoes.
On closer inspection, you see they attached things to their cars that make them a lot more comfortable to use. They tell you to get them in extension shops where the things are given away for free. When you ask for some, the shop tells you that you need to pay.
If you park the car in your garage and close the door to work on it youll get a message that you really should be on the road to make repairs.
If you try to change the colour of your car and fit nicer seats you realise that the paint never really covers all and the seats only fit when you fix them with a lot of adhesive tape. On the other hand it is really easy to change the colour of the tires and make the license plate fade in and out.

Firefox 45M
Dos semanas sin el contador y casi se duplican las descargas.
Me entero hoy que se han descargado más de 45 millones de copias del navegador Firefox.
A seguir ganando batallas, que esta guerra viene bastante larga ya. Ojala que esto sirva al menos para que el próximo IE (el famoso IE 7) sea “un poco” más compatible con el estándar al menos.

El problema de la barra lateral
Estoy remodelando un poco el blog y me encuentro con un problema, tengo demasiadas cosas en la barra lateral.
Voy a tratar de organizar un poco y ver que es lo realmente util e importante y que es lo que puedo sacar para otro lado, o sea crear páginas específicas para eso.
Lo que pienso dejar es mi info, como para que tengan idea quien escribe, la busqueda, el archivo y las tags. El resto voy a tratar de organizarlo en páginas, a ver como hago

Desde hoy, el servicio de correo electrónico por web de Google está disponible en 12 idiomas: holandés, francés, alemán, italiano, japonés, coreano, portugués, español, ruso y chino (tradicional y simplificado) y también en inglés británico.
Una estrellita más para los chicos de Google.

Linux por fin
Bueno, despues de un tiempo, el que me llevo decidirme, y algunas horas de trabajo, tengo instalado Linux en mi computadora.
Les cuento que eso del tiempo que me llevo decidirme no fue por mi mismo, sino porque mi computadora a comparto con otras personas, no tan adeptas al cambio, y para males mayores tenia mi hd con una sola particion. Ese era el problema principal, ya que para hacer una buena instalacion necesitaba una nueva particion y no podia perder nada de la informacion que tenia antes.
Lo que mas me llevo de tiempo fue reparticionar el disco, con el correspondiente respaldo de la informacion. El resto fue bastante rapido, una distribucion de knoppix, bajada en unas horas de la red, que instale en la particion recien creada. Ahora estoy terminando de ajustar cosas, instalar programas y traerme mis datos (lease email, documentos, etc, de mi configuracion anterior)
Para el que no sepa les cuento que knoppix es una distribucion de linux que es posible ejecutarla directamente del CD, o sea que se puede probar sin hacer ningun cambio en el sistema, y en caso de luego querer es posible instalarlo para ejecutarlo como un sistema operativo habitual. Por supuesto que se puede, como es mi caso, tener instalado tanto Linux como el otro sistema. A todos los que quieran, siendo aqui en el Uruguay, pueden pedirme una copia del CD y se las envio con mucho gusto. Pueden contar con mi apoyo en caso de que tengan dudas (no creo ser un experto pero conozco un poquitito :D).

Desde Linux…
Perdón por este post, pero todo el tiempo con el W…. que una vez que estoy usando Linux tenia que postear algo: Bueno ya vuelvo al otro, :(, espero que por poco tiempo más.
